This page provides a link to the Legal Advisors Manual. This Manual, which contains information for legal advisors in JP Courts, was produced in February 2008. It is intended to be a reference for Legal Advisors for use in court in the new Justice of the Peace Courts introduced from December 2007 by the Criminal Proceedings etc. (Reform)(Scotland) Act 2007, and in District Courts in areas where Justice of the Peace Courts have not yet come into being.

This page provides a link to the Justice's Bench Book. This Bench Book, which contains information for the lay judiciary, was produced in November 2007. It is intended to be a reference for lay Justices of the Peace for use in court in the new Justice of the Peace Courts introduced from December 2007 by the Criminal Proceedings etc. (Reform)(Scotland) Act 2007, and in District Courts in areas where Justice of the Peace Courts have not yet come into being.
This page also provides a link to the JP Competences. These Competences were developed by the JSC and the then District Courts Association in 2006.
